India’s logistics sector, a key driver of connectivity and manufacturing competitiveness, is set for modernization with a $350 million policy-based loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The funding supports the second phase of the Strengthening Multimodal and Integrated Logistics Ecosystem Program, focusing on comprehensive policy, planning, and institutional reforms at state and city levels. Aligned with initiatives like the Prime Minister Gati Shakti-National Master Plan and National Logistics Policy, the program emphasizes infrastructure upgrades and logistics digitization. The transformation aims to reduce overall costs, boost efficiency, create jobs, enhance gender inclusion, strengthen supply chain resilience, and support sustainable growth. By embracing digital technologies and improving processes, India targets $2 trillion in exports of goods and services by 2030.
India’s electronics manufacturing is undergoing rapid growth, driven by government initiatives like the PLI Scheme and Semicon India Program, rising demand, and a push for self-reliance. Companies like Dixon, TDK, Motherson, and Corning are investing heavily, boosting innovation and infrastructure. With a $500 billion target by 2030, policymakers aim to make India a global electronics hub by fostering partnerships and integrating 100 more firms into the worldwide supply chain.
